American General Now Offers Accelerated Underwriting on Term

American General and United States Life NY are now offering Accelerated Underwriting through Vive for all Select-a-Term guarantee periods in all states. The process is available for issue ages 20-59 for a maximum face amount of $1,000,000. Currently, American General’s accelerated underwriting processes for term and IUL are separate so please contact us prior to submitting for situations where both term and IUL are being applied for with American General or United States Life NY.

Value+ Protector IUL Now Available Without an Exam

American General’s Value+ Protector II IUL joins the Max Accumulator+ II IUL on American General’s non-medical underwriting program. This program is available for issue ages 0-50 for up to $1,000,000 of death benefit coverage for both non-smokers and smokers. For those who qualify, the application process will be less intrusive with no paramed exams, no APS and no lab tests. All living benefits and rate classes will be available. This includes American General’s Table Shave program (Table 2 to Standard) for your mildly impaired clients. | more

Savings Bank Mutual Increases No-Exam Underwriting to $750,000

Effective October 15, 2020, Savings Bank Mutual Life (SBLI) increased the maximum face amount for their unique Accelerated Underwriting process, which is guaranteed for anyone ages 18-60, from $500,000 to $750,000 all risk classes. The process is available on all SBLI term and whole life insurance products and provides expedited underwriting with no in-person contact to maximize social distancing.

EMSI Shuts Down Operations

As of July 3rd, Examination Management Services Inc. (EMSI) ceased the processing of insurance interviews, paramed exams, medical records and all related services.  This sudden and unexpected announcement is creating service issues across the entire life insurance industry. The Brokers Network is working closely with affected life insurers and their service providers regarding all underwriting requirements previously assigned to EMSI.

Any requirements we are handling on your behalf are in the process of being re-ordered. If you ordered any medical records or insurance exams directly with EMSI, you must place new orders with a different service provider. Lincoln VUL Underwriting Upgrade

Lincoln National is now offering an enhanced underwriting program to strengthen the competitive value of their industry leading suite of Variable Universal Life (VUL) products. For VUL cases fully underwritten at standard or better and placed by December 31, 2018, Lincoln is offering a one-class underwriting upgrade. This upgrade program is available for issue ages 20-80 on all Lincoln single life and survivorship VUL plans excluding the AssetEdge Exec VUL and policies issued in New York.  | more

 

Prudential Rate Reduction Underwriting Program

The Prudential Rate Reduction program allows certain Table A and B rated applications to be moved to Standard. This underwriting advantage is available to all fully underwritten proposed insureds ages 20-70 applying for $100,000 to $5,000,000 of death benefit coverage. Covering term, universal life and variable life, this program is not a table shave program and only applies to certain ratable impairments where underwriting experience allows for an improved offer. As such, not all cases eligible for the program will see a rating reduction (even if the impairment appears on the eligible list). The program does cover some non-medical risks such as private aviation and recreational scuba diving.  | more

For those who qualify, the application process will be less intrusive: no physical exam, no APS, no lab tests, and no paramed exams! All living benefits and rate classes will be available.
